The 4 Star Hotel Sole |
Lake Garda is italy’s largest lake stretching over 30 miles from the rugged grandeur of the dolomites to the borders of lombardy. Its shores are dotted with facinating old towns, castles and villages, set against a backdrop of towering mountains.
At the northwest tip of the lake, RIVA DEL GARDA is the best known of the lake’s resorts. It started attracting visitors in the late nineteenth century and retains some stylish pastel-painted buildings. Its old town is pleasant, and large enough to support a market and shops. The lakeside area is where you will find the gelaterie, cafes and restaurants. You will find that Riva is cheaper than most of the other resorts.
The 4* Hotel Sole is located in a quiet position in the centre of Riva Del Garda, overlooking the lake. The hotel has recently been completely refurbished and its 78 en-suite guest rooms are air conditioned, have a TV, phone, safe & fridge. The hotel has a sauna & solarium (there is a charge to use) and a terrace on the 4th floor to really enjoy those views. There is a comfortable “American Bar” and a restaurant with an excellent reputation locally. You can hire bikes from the hotel free of charge and take the cycle track to Torbole. As you can see from the photograph, Riva Del Garda is on the flat, so walking is pleasant and you don’t have to go very far to board a boat and take a cruise to some of the other lakeside towns.
