The hills are alight with the colours of green and red, exploding like thousands of stars in the dark, and bathing the towers and battlements in a glow of bengal lights. OUTLINE ITINERARY Talisman Travel reserves the right to alter the order of this itinerary if required.

• DAY 1 After completing our schedule of local pickups, we drive direct to the Eurotunnel Terminal at Cheriton for our channel crossing to Calais. Our journey takes us through France and Belgium into Germany. We arrive at our hotel in time for our evening meal and a relaxing evening.
  
  
• DAY 2 After a buffet breakfast we visit the delightful town of Koblenz, standing on the point where the rivers Rhine and Moselle meet. Here, there will be time to explore the Altstadt (old town) before we return to our hotel for lunch and time to relax before the big evening event. Later in the afternoon, we join our Rhine cruiser and seventy other ships to sail through the vineyard clad Rhine Valley. During our cruise, we have a two course evening meal before the flotilla anchors mid stream at the town of St.Goar. As darkness falls and the ships’ lights are dimmed, we experience the amazing “Rhine in Flames” firework displays, set from the ramparts of no less than three castles overlooking the river. After the display, we return to Koblenz and enjoy the warm social ambience of our ship.
  
  
• DAY 3 After a leisurely start to the day, we take the short drive to the lovely riverside town of Cochem, on the River Moselle. Stroll through the narrow medieval streets, take a chairlift to enjoy the spectacular views of the valley and the Reichsburg Castle, or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere at one of the many riverside restaurants. We conclude the afternoon with a visit to a traditional winery to be entertained by a local vintner and of course sample some of his wines. During the evening, we once again have a three course dinner at our hotel and top the evening off with some entertainment.
  
  
• DAY 4 Following breakfast, we say goodbye to our hosts and commence the journey home. We take a comfort stop for lunch, to soak up the atmosphere of the historical cathedral city of Aachen, before returning to Calais for our Eurotunnel crossing to Kent.
